Compostable Coalition UK has been studying the feasibility to collect and compost compostable packaging in the UK via existing and upcoming infrastructure for 3 years. Results of our study indicate there are multiple viable ways to ensure circularity for various compostable packaging formats, designed to replace hard-to-recycle plastics. Some measures may be implemented immediately while others will require further alignment with stakeholders alongside supportive Gov. policies.
